Dandruff

Dandruff is also known as Scruff or Pityriasis simplex capillitii, but the bad thing about it is that the exact cause is not yet known, but still the beginning of dandruff in hair there may be some reasons which are discussed in this article. In fact, when the topmost thin layer of skin becomes inactive, it begins to move like a rash, which is called dandruff. 


 Types of Dandruff.

 1. Dry skin Related dandruff.

 The most common type of dandruff is due to dry skin. During winter washing the hair with hot water makes it dry and flaky.

 2. Oil related dandruff.

 Another common reason for dandruff is the collection of oil from your head. This type of dandruff is often accompanied by inappropriate or irregular shampoos. If your hair & scalp are not properly clean, then sebum oil can makes itchy layers in combination with dead cells of the skin and dirt.

 3. Fungus dandruff.

 Malassezia is a fungus that is naturally found on the skin and head. Generally, there is a limited increase of this fungus. But, excessive oil on the head acts as a food for this fungus, which leads to higher growth. This fungus produces an oleic acid, resulting in white layers.

 4. Disease related dandruff.

 Diseases related to head may include head-related infection. For example, psoriasis has excessive production of skin cells, so that the skin layers are formed and it mixes dirt with dandruff. Similarly, skin with eczema becomes scabby and flaky.

 Symptoms of Dandruff 

 For most teenagers and adults, it is easy to identify the symptoms of dandruff. Dandruff has white, oily spots that are usually visible on your hair and shoulders and it may also cause itching in your head. 

 One of the most common dandruff in children called "Cradle cap" that affect children. It is the most common among newborns, but it can occur at any time during childhood. Cradle cap dandruff is not dangerous always and usually cures itself.

 Causes of Dandruff.

 1. Dry skin dandruff.

 Dry skin is a major cause of dandruff. If your skin is too tight then your hair also increases the chances of getting dandruff and if it is not properly treated.

 2. Yeast sensitivity.

 If the problem of dandruff is increasing during the winter compared to the summer, So do not eat yeast food due to this allergy. Because these may also be the reason for the skin being rude. 

 3. Dirty head.

 There is a sign of dirty head, dirt and dead cells. It can produce dandruff in two ways. Due to the presence of dead cells, the problem of dandruff begins in the hair. Dirty head & hair attracts many microbes, it can cause the development of yeasts and fungus. The only way to avoid this is to wash your head from time to time and keep your scalp clean. Because these types of dandruff also cause hair to fall. 

 4. Not combing properly.

 Brushing the hair definitely cleans your hair. Hair should be comb daily. By doing this, you clean your dirt, dead skin etc. with your head. Combing regularly your hair does not cause dirt in your head.

 5. Seborrheic dermatitis.

 Seborrheic dermatitis is a condition in the skin in which the skin of head, ear and face becomes yellowish, smooth and crusted. If your skin is oily then the skin of your head can be itchy and granular. This is due to excessive oil production and excessive oil may cause dirt. 

 It is important to keep your head clean. Shampoo when necessary. Dirt and pollution are very high in today's time. Use shampoo with light and balanced pH to protect hair from unnecessary damage.

 6. Skin disease.

 When someone has psoriasis, eczema and other skin related diseases, they also have to face the problem of dandruff. These people should take advice from the doctor as soon as possible without wasting time.

 7. Long-term drug or high steroids intake.

 When someone consumes medicines and steroids for a long time, that can face serious problems like dandruff and such a situation should be diagnosed as soon as possible, otherwise it can cause baldness. To get back on track, you should do regular check-up and take medicines according to the advice given by the specialist.

 8. Mental stress.

 No one cares about it, or can not care because of lack of time. But due to mental stress, there may also be serious dandruff. Stay away from stress, sleep at least 8 hours. This keeps stress away from it.

 9. Diet.

 Everyone talks about healthy food but we should also really pay attention on our head and dandruff. To avoid hair loss due to dandruff, eat fresh vegetables and fruits. Good diet is important for maintaining proper skin head.

 Prevention of Dandruff.

 1. Head cleaning.

 Clean your hair and head thoroughly to remove dirt and collected dead cells present on your head. You can use shampoo with ketoconazole, selenium sulphide or zinc to wash your hair. However, using these shampoos even when there is no dandruff can cause problems. Because it makes your head dry. To remove layers on the surface of the head, you must brush your hair with a fine shoulder. By doing this, blood circulation will also improve.

 2. Massage.

 Massaging the head with coconut or olive oil from linen heated cloth improves blood circulation. When blood circulation improves, the dandruff is controlled. Therefore, massage your head regularly before brushing your hair. It is also beneficial for hair growth.

 3. Protect your hair and head from the weather. For example, the sun's rays and heat can increase the production of oil in your head, thereby increasing the problem of dandruff. Therefore, to avoid sunlight rays and direct contact of bad weather, cover the head.
