Bleeding Gums.

What is Bleeding Gums?

 Gingival bleeding is the most common sign of Gingival diseases, but it also indicates many other health problems.



 Sometimes the problem of bleeding in the gums can be due to brush with excessive rub or wear dentures that are not fit properly (artificial teeth). Frequent bleeding from the gums can indicate other serious conditions, including the following-

 * Periodontitis - (An Advanced Form of Gingival Disease)
 * Vitamin deficiency 
 * Decrease in platelets
 * Hormonal changes during pregnancy

 However, it is not a big deal to get a little blood from the gums, but if your gums are continuously releasing more blood, then it should not be ignored. 

 Symptoms of Bleeding Gums 

 During the bleeding gum, the following symptoms and signs may appear.

 * Gingivitis
 * Pain around the mouth and gums
 * Dark red or red-purple gums
 * The distance between gums and teeth increases
 * Mouth odor
 * Toothache

 If you have following problems then you should consult doctor

 * If there is a long and severe bleeding in the gums.
 * If bleeding is still occurring after treatment.
 * And if you are experiencing some of the symptoms or feelings that you can not express while bleeding in the gums, then show to doctor.

 Causes of Bleeding Gums 

 Dental and other physical problems can also cause bleeding from the gums, besides there are issues related to some lifestyle which can cause bleeding from the gums.

 1. Vitamin C deficiency: When a person's diet does not contain enough fruits and vegetables, then it may be due to vitamin C deficiency. They cause pain and swelling in the gums, which can cause bleeding.

 2. Liver diseases: Liver diseases or due to alcoholism, the disease prevents the work of the liver, there may be bleeding in gums.

 3. Cancer: Some types of cancer such as leukemia or bone marrow cancer also cause bleeding from the gums.

 4. Vitamin K deficiency: Vitamin K is an important element for the clotting process in the body. Therefore, when Vitamin K deficiency occurs, the tendency to bleed anywhere in the body increases, including gum.

 5. Hormonal changes in women: It occurs during pregnancy, usually it starts in the second month or third month of pregnancy and lasts for the eighth month, due to which the gums can cause pain, swelling and bleeding. 

 6. Do not keep mouth clean: Blood may come from them even after swelling of the gums, and this happens when people do not keep their teeth clean. It begins to cause problems in the gums, and they become red and they develop swelling and pain. So that they start bleeding easily.

 7. Bleeding disorders: Genetic and unknown origins are bleeding disorders, which increase the general tendency of bleeding. It can appear first through bleeding.

 8. Medicines: Some types of medicines such as heart attacks and medicines given for stroke, medicines given for epilepsy, chemotherapy for cancer, etc. may also cause bleeding in the gums.

 In addition to these reasons above, there may be many other reasons like Tobacco intake, stress, radiation therapy, HIV etc. These are all due to the disease related to the gums, these diseases start bleeding from the gums.

 Prevention of Bleeding Gums.

 You can take the following steps to prevent bleeding from your gums

 * Show dentist: If you do not stop bleeding from your gums, then show to dentist, change mouth-care habits, take medicines properly and consuming a healthy diet. The dentist will examine your gums and determine if you have a serious problem.

 * Ask the doctor about your medicines: There are also some medicines that increase the chance of bleeding from the gums. Some painkillers like aspirin, which cause bleeding. In such cases, doctors prescribe other medicines instead of these drugs.

 * Check your toothbrush: If bleeding from your gums and your toothbrush is hard hair, then use a soft-haired toothbrush in its place.

 * Eat good and balanced food: A balanced diet, which contains abundant vitamins C and calcium, can reduce the chances of gingival problems in you.

 * Drink plenty of water: Drinking plenty of water is good for health, especially after eating food after drinking water, pieces of food stuck in the teeth are released. By which the bacteria can not form a plaque that can damage the gum.

 * Do not eat tobacco products: If you smoke or use other tobacco products, try to leave them.

 * Be Relax: Mental stress boosts levels of the stress hormone, which increases your swelling in other parts of the body including your gums.
