Heart Attack.

Heart attack (heart failure) occurs when the oxygenated blood flow to the heart is blocked. It is due to fats, cholesterol and other substances that block them by making plaques in the coronary arteries to the heart. The heart does not get oxygen due to the disrupted blood flow, and if the heart does not get oxygen quickly then the heart muscles are destroyed.

 Types of Heart Attack.

 1. ST Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI):
STEMI causes pain in the middle of the chest. It does not cause acute pain but feels pressure and stiffness. Some people also feel pressure and tightness in the arms, neck, jaw and back.

 2. Non-ST Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction (NSTEMI):
Coronary arteries in part of NSTEMI are partially blocked. There is no change in the ST segment in the electrocardiogram from ANSTEMI (NSTEMI).

 3. Unstable angina or coronary convulsions:
Its symptoms are similar to STEMI but it is mostly ignored as a pain in indigestion or muscle. When the arteries of the heart get compressed, the blood flow to the heart stops or decreases. Diagnosis of unstable angina shows only by imaging or blood tests. There is no dangerous harm from the coronary spasms but this increases the risk of heart attack again.

 Symptoms of Heart Attack

The symptoms of heart attack are as follows:

 1. Feeling pressure, stiffness or pain on the chest or arms that can spread to your throat, jaw and back.
 2. Nausea, indigestion, chest burning, abdominal pain
 3. Difficulty breathing.
 4. "cold sweat" (sweating due to fear, anxiety, or disease).
 5. Tiredness
 6. Dizziness

Symptoms of heart attack are not normal for all people. Chest pain is always acute, but some people may experience very little pain like feeling indigestion. Some people (especially women, elderly and suffering from diabetes) do not have pain.

  Causes of Heart Attack.

A heart attack occurs when one or more of your coronary arteries are blocked. Coronary artery can be narrowed due to the accumulation of cholesterol and many other substances. This condition is called coronary artery disease and most heart attacks are due to this.

During a heart attack, plaque can rupture and, cholesterol and many other substances can spread in the bloodstream. Where plaques break up, blood clots form there. If this clot is larger then due to this the blood flow can be completely blocked.

On one side of the heart attack, the reason is the coronary artery spasm, which causes blood flow to the heart muscle stops. Tobacco and illegal drugs like cocaine can lead to murderous convulsions. A heart attack may also be due to the rupture of the artery (Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection).

 Prevention of Heart Attack.

 1. To reduce the risk of heart attack and to improve the work of your damaged heart, use the medicines prescribed by the doctor and continue consulting with your doctor.

 2. Keep healthy weight as well as healthy diet, do not smoke, do daily exercise, do not take too much stress and control high BP, high cholesterol levels in the blood and diabetes problems.

 3. If you have diabetes, then use the medicines used for it and keep checking your blood sugar level. If you have any cardiovascular disease, consult your doctor and use medicines prescribed by the doctor.

 4. In Heart Attack Prevention Tips, cholesterol plays the most important role. From a healthy heart point of view, cholesterol levels are considered to be 130 mg/dl. Therefore, try to avoid cholesterol-containing foods such as oil, butter, ghee etc., as much as possible.

 5. The main reason for the problem of blood pressure is irregular lifestyles and bad eating habits. If you want to reduce the chances of cardiac arrest then blood pressure is required to be kept around 120/80 mmHg. Because when the level of blood pressure goes above 130/90, in these situations it becomes activated to promote your blockage at twice the speed. To reduce blood pressure, reduce the use of salt in the food and take light medicines when needed.

 6. When we are under much stress, our body emits a lot of chemicals called cortisol, adrenaline and noradrenaline, which raise our heart's pulse rate. Therefore, try to be stress-free if possible, it will help you to prevent heart disease.

 7. If your weight is higher than normal i.e. if your BMI is above 25 then you are more likely to get heart attack. An obese person may have inflammation in the heart tissue, which can eventually lead to heart attack.
