Brain tumor

What is brain tumor?

 Brain tumor is a collection of abnormal cells in the brain. The skull that holds your brain in the cover is extremely harsh. In this way any unusual cellular development can cause problems within this limited space.

Brain tumor can be cancerous (fatal) or non-cancerous (normal). When benign or malignant tumors increase, it can increase the pressure inside the scalp. This condition causes damage to the brain and it can be dangerous for life.

 Brain tumor is classified as primary or secondary category. The primary brain tumor is produced in your brain.

Many primary brain tumors are benign (normal). The secondary brain tumor, also known as metastatic brain tumor, occurs when the cancer cells spread to your brain through any other affected organ such as lungs or breast.

 Types of Brain Tumour.

 There are two main types of brain tumor:

 * Cancerous brain tumors - It starts in the form of primary tumor in the brain and gradually spreads (secondary tumor) to other parts of the brain. It is possible to recover again even after treatment.

 * Non-cancerous brain tumors - It grows slowly and after the treatment it is less likely to occur again.

 Symptoms of Brain Tumor

 Signs and symptoms of brain tumor vary. This depends on the size, location and rate of growth of the brain tumor. Many times a person may have problems with brain tumor without any symptoms.

 Symptoms of brain tumors can be general and specific. Its normal symptoms arise due to the pressure caused by the tumor in the brain and spinal cord. On the other hand, specific symptoms occur when a certain part of the brain is unable to work properly due to the tumor. Many people may have problems with brain tumor, but this can be done only by going to the doctor for some tests. Headache and other problems start to arise in this problem.

 Brain tumors include the following general signs and symptoms:

 * Regular Headache
 * Headache gradually becoming severe
 * Vomiting and nausea
 * Obscurity in sight
 * Do not feel the hand and foot sensitivity
 * Having difficulty balancing the body
 * Do not understand the cause of problems every day
 * Changes in behavior
 * Have trouble hearing
 * Fatigue
 * Forgetting things for a while
 * Difficulty in speaking or understanding
 * Insomnia
 * Changes in daily activities and their ability to do so etc.

 Some specific symptoms are also seen in brain tumors, which include:

 If you are feeling any of the above symptoms then go to your doctor. Many other types of problems can also be responsible for such symptoms, so it is important that you go to the doctor and get information about it.

 Brain Tumour Causes & Risk Factors.

 What are the causes and risk factors of brain tumor?

 The exact causes of brain tumor could not be ascertained yet. Researchers are studying whether or not its risk factors are likely to develop brain tumors compared to other factors. Its risk factors can increase the likelihood of this disease. Let's know the risk factors of brain tumors, which can increase the chances of its occurrence.

 1. Increasing age: Along with aging, the risk of having a brain tumor increases. It is most common to have a brain tumor in older people. However, brain tumors can occur at any age. Some types of brain tumor are found only in children.

 2. Impact of harmful rays: Those who resort to any therapy like 'ionizing radiation', they increases the risk of brain tumor. For example, ionizing radiation is also included in radiative therapy that treats cancer.

 3. A family member has the first ever brain tumor: If your family member had a problem of brain tumor before, then your chances of having a brain tumor increase greatly in your brain.

 4. Children with cancer are at greater risk of having brain tumors during their later life. Adults who have leukemia (blood cancer) also have a risk of this.

 Treatment of Brain Tumor

 How is the treatment of brain tumor done?

 Treatment of brain tumors depends on the following:

 * Types of tumors,
  * Tumor conditions in the brain,
  * Tumor size,
  * How much tumor has spread,
  * How unusual are the cells,
  * What is your health and fitness level?

 Surgery:

 * If the brain tumor is located in a place where operation is easy, then your surgeon will try to remove the maximum tumor.

 * In some cases, it is easier to separate the tumor from the small and the surrounding brain tissue, which is the perfect condition for a complete surgery. While in some other cases, tumors can not be separated from surrounding tissues. In addition, It it is located near the sensitive areas in the brain, in which the risk of surgery can not be taken. In this situation, your doctor removes the tumor with other safe methods.

 * Removal of part of brain tumor may help to reduce your symptoms.

 * The removal of brain tumor from surgery is at risk of infection and bleeding. Apart from this there may be other problems related to the location of the tumor.
